Learn Mandarin with Yee Hang

I grew up speaking several languages in Malaysia and now teach Mandarin from Cork, Ireland. My lessons bring together clear explanations, pronunciation practice and everyday conversations—with stories, culture and Chinese characters along the way.
How we learn

Understand the words. Enjoy the conversation.

You do not need perfect Chinese to start speaking. We work with useful sentences, explain why they work, and practise them in situations you recognise. Ask questions, make mistakes and build confidence one conversation at a time.

Understand grammar through useful comparisons: 是 vs 很, 不 vs 没, and 会 vs 能 vs 可以. Learn what changes—and why.

Pronunciation that clicks

Listen closely, try the sounds and practise tones in real words. Pinyin and practical pronunciation tips guide you along the way.

Chinese through stories

Explore short stories, everyday dialogues and culture. Meet words in context so they mean more than a vocabulary list.

Practice with feedback

Choose speaking or writing practice in the upcoming library. Submit your work for weekly personal feedback from me.

Walter Thompson

Creativity takes courage

Walter has been practicing art since the age of four. He has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education and has been teaching Art History and practise for over 30 years in San Francisco. Michael enjoys teaching all levels and all ages from 4-104! He looks forward to sharing his love of art with all students to develop their creative abilities.

Patricia bright

Patricia began painting at the age of six. She attended the Johnson School of Art at the age of ten and later began studying classical art. At the age of 18 she attended the St. Markus Institute of Art on a full scholarship. After completing college, she has exhibited many of her art series all over the US and parts of Europe.
